Meet Anne
For more than 15 years, I worked in overseas aid with organisations including GOAL and Haven, spending time in countries such as Haiti, Niger and Angola. It was extraordinary and rewarding work, but it could also be intense and, at times, chaotic. I didn't know much about breathwork then, but looking back, I can see how valuable it would have been to have a simple way to pause, reset and find calm in the middle of everything.
A different kind of recovery
Life took a few challenging turns after that, and over time my own experience of recovery led me to breathwork training with the The Breathwork Academy. I discovered just how powerful something as simple as our breath can be. It is always with us. We don't need special equipment, the perfect setting or even very much time. We can simply stop, breathe and begin again.
For me, breathwork is also about coming back to ourselves. So much of life can be spent adapting, performing, pleasing others or trying to be the person we think we're supposed to be. When we pause and connect with our breath, we create some space between ourselves and all that noise. And in that space, we can begin to find the courage and freedom to be who we really are.
Where it led me
I went on to train as a breathwork teacher and in the facilitation of cacao ceremonies, and I’ve since brought breathwork into group and corporate settings. I’ve seen how even simple breathing practices can help people feel calmer, more grounded and more connected.
My focus is on creating simple, welcoming spaces where people can pause, breathe and reconnect — whether you're experiencing stress, anxiety or overwhelm, navigating a period of recovery or change, or simply looking for a little more calm in everyday life.
Sometimes recovery simply means finding our way back to ourselves — one breath at a time.
